Deep South Published 2000
"I worked for two years on the Natchez Trace Parkway in Mississippi. I lived about a mile and half from the Trace in Clinton, MS before moving to New Orleans. Since coming to the south I'd wanted to do a story on the Trace. The place is rife with mystery and characters. For a long time I couldn't come up with anything. The Trace is a road for chrissake! You get on, you kill somebody, you get off. A mystery haiku at best. Finally I found my story in the old graveyard near my house in Rocky Springs. " Nevada
Back in the days on the Trace when I reveled in packing heat.
